In this course, students will apply critical and reflective thinking and writing in academic and professional contexts and demonstrate doctoral-level scholar-practitioner writing skills for the Applied Doctoral Project. Students will participate in academic conversations with both peers and scholars and transform information into written argumentation with recognition of multiple perspectives, including their own. The Virtuous Business Model will be integrated in student reading, researching, writing, and reporting. Modeling a conscientious approach to writing through diligent application of academic standards and publishing principles is emphasized.

This course introduces the student to the Doctor of Business Administration program. Students will apply problem-based learning to real-world problem solving, analyze lifelong learning skills needed for today's dynamic business environment, and evaluate new business administration knowledge for application in the global workplace. Students will contrast the Virtuous Business Model with their personal and professional behavior and beliefs. In order to successfully complete this course, students must achieve a passing score on the APA writing and citation assessment that is required in this course. This course includes an onsite residency.

In this course, students will learn how to conduct doctoral level, problem-based research. Specifically, students will analyze potential problem scenarios to determine aligned research approaches, evaluate the inherent tradeoffs between research methods, propose effective hypothes and research questions, and determine the appropriate data collection methodology for specific research questions. Students will critically analyze published research to reveal gaps in the knowledge base and apply the concepts of truth and knowledge, including the secular perspectives of epistemology and ontology to the Virtuous Business Model. Prerequisite: BADM-701

In this course, students will critique leadership aspects of real-world situations from the perspective of the Virtuous Business Model, distinguish among current leadership theories including servant leadership, and assess success factors for leadership within a global team environment. Students will appraise change-management situations to determine specific leadership elements and appropriate best practices. Students will assess potential ethical leadership solutions using the Virtuous Business Model.

In this course, students will discover the strategic economic questions all firms must answer and appraise the various objectives and economic data needed for an industry analysis. Students will investigate the economic data to determine the competitive environment of an industry. Students will interpret economic data to create an economic forecast and determine opportunities and risks within the economic analysis. Students will critique the economic decision-making process of organizations within an industry for alignment with the Virtuous Business Model.

In this course, students will distinguish marketing perspectives in an industry analysis and construct a theoretical marketing model that integrates the Virtuous Business Model. Students will create strategies and ethical solutions for complex marketing problems. Students will critique real-world marketing problems for an organization in an industry using problem-based learning.

This course starts the second year of the DBA program. In this course, students will develop collaborative relationships that support problem-based learning, synthesize new research skills for application in the global workplace, and evaluate potential research methodologies for alignment with research goals. This is a required onsite course. Prerequisite: BADM-702

In this course, students will develop research and data analytical skills for use in solving business problems. Students will assess research methodologies for applicability to research projects, design research plans to test research hypotheses, and conduct research in alignment with the Virtuous Business Model. Students will incorporate data analytics and research into their doctoral-level practice.

Students in this course will demonstrate forward-thinking virtuous decision-making within the global team-based business environment, integrate the Virtuous Business Model into an operations framework and differentiate supply chain considerations for multiple global operations. Students will create change management solutions and strategies for complex operational problems consistent into their doctoral practice and synthesize advanced research in operations into their doctoral practice.

Students will assess forward-thinking leadership challenges arising from current events. Current business events will be critiqued using the perspective and values of the Virtuous Business Model and global cultural factors will be integrated into relevant change management plans. Students will recommend ethical responses consistent with the Virtuous Business Model to address current business events. The impact of current issues on organizations and integrating synthesized research into current events will be incorporated into the student's doctoral-level practice. Prerequisite: BADM-710

In this course, students will apply forward-thinking leadership skills that enhance solving of real-world problems, critique completed projects in order to reflect upon personal and organizational effectiveness. Students will prepare written documentation for both academic and professional audiences and integrate a virtuous worldview in both their personal and professional lives. This course requires an onsite residency. Prerequisite: BADM-706

Students in this course will apply forward-thinking leadership skills to enhance solving of real-world problems that contribute to organizational effectiveness and competitive advantage or socioeconomic advance. Students will prepare written documentation and a presentation for either a peer-reviewed academic or a professional audience to share findings from their Applied Doctoral Project or other research efforts. Students will integrate a virtuous worldview in both their personal and professional lives. This course requires an onsite residency or an approved virtual setting. Prerequisite: BADM-706

The Virtuous Business Model will be integrated in student reading, researching, writing, and reporting.

In this course, students will assess potential industries for future research that aligns with personal and professional goals and integrate the virtuous business model into personal research goals. An approved Industry Selection form is required to successfully complete this course. Application and implementation of course theories and concepts in an organizational setting will be addressed through embedded, experiential learning experiences and activities within the course.

This is a 16-week (full-term) elective course and is only applicable for students who need to remain enrolled to complete their Applied Doctoral Project (ADP). After completion of the Comprehensive Exam, students are required to register for this course to maintain continuous enrollment until the ADP is successfully completed and approved. Students will work on their ADP with an assigned research chair to ensure adequate progress is made to earn credit for this course. A third enrollment resulting in a No Credit grade for not making progress will trigger dismissal from the program. Students will be required to pay the course tuition and any associated fees for each enrollment. The course may be repeated as many times as necessary as per the program time limit. Prerequisite: BADM-785

In this course, students will develop new knowledge for application in the global workplace and design solutions to real world business administration problems using new applications of theory or changes in present practice. Students will determine the current demand for labor and required skillsets within a desired industry segment, and create tools to use in pursuing employment opportunities. Students will integrate the Virtuous Business Model into a personal philosophy appropriate for business education, business leadership and/or consulting. Prerequisite: BADM-710

Students will critique their own existing assumptions and beliefs about adult learning and evaluate best practices for educating adults. Fundamentals of human knowledge development will be explored. In addition, students will devise a personal philosophy of teaching consistent with the Virtuous Business Model and best practices of adult teaching and learning. Students will apply their personal philosophy and best practice to the creation of syllabi and curriculum for both online and face-to-face educational settings. Prerequisite: BADM-710

In this course, students will evaluate leadership perspectives and develop a personal leadership philosophy that is consistent with their values and the Virtuous Business Model. Students will analyze the realities of leadership in today's complex and diverse organizations, including assessment of common problems and specific opportunities for leadership growth and development. Assessing the key roles and responsibilities for senior leaders within an organization will enable students to critique success factors for leadership. This course is designed to help prepare students for an executive leadership role. Prerequisite: BADM-710

In this course, students will prepare themselves for employment as an independent consultant or in a consulting role as part of an improvement team. Students will diagnose specific consulting opportunities within their area of expertise. Students will implement best consulting practices and develop a personal consulting style consistent with the Virtuous Business Model. Students will create unique consulting marketing strategies for specific industries and organizations. Prerequisite: BADM-710

Students will critique research in business administration from the perspective of their doctoral-level practice, demonstrate subject matter expertise in business administration, and synthesize concepts of the Virtuous Business Model. Students may only repeat this course once in an attempt to achieve a passing grade. Prerequisite: Successful completion of all core, seminar, and specialization courses.

In this course, students further develop and refine their voices as scholar practitioners through active exchange within communities of practice and scholarship. Students will draw on critical and creative mastery of a broad range of concepts, theories and practices, as well as be aware of the assumptions underlying them from perspectives which go beyond individual disciplines and contexts. Grounded in theory and research, informed by experiential knowledge, motivated by personal values, and through the lens of a virtuous worldview, students will synthesize new business administration knowledge and skills for application in the global workplace. These reflect solutions to real-world business administration problems using new applications of theory or changes in present practice. Students will develop skills to effectively communicate their findings in a variety of formats including peer-reviewed written or oral venues. Prerequisite: Completion of all other required courses with the exception of BADM-785 and BADM-792.

This is the culminating course in the Doctor of Business Administration with specializations in Management, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, Data Analytics, and the Doctoral Completion Program: Doctor of Business Administration. Students will synthesize new knowledge and skills for application in the global workplace leading to advanced ethical change management solutions and strategies for complex business problems. Solutions to real-world business problems using new applications of theory or changes in present practice will be designed. Students must adhere to all submission and approval processes to successfully complete their Applied Doctoral Project. Prerequisite: Completion of all other required courses except BADM-785,
which may be taken concurrently with this course.
