I. Scope
This policy impacts all National and Global programs.
II. Policy Statement
IWU National and Global has adopted guidelines for the development of program marketing materials.
III. Reason for the Policy
The purpose of this policy is to ensure timely and effective development of marketing materials for optimal recruitment to National and Global programs.
IV. Procedures
A minimum lead time of four (4) months is required to develop, produce and deploy marketing material prior to the scheduled implementation date of program modifications, fee modifications and new program offerings.
Marketing materials include the following:
- Program Information Sheet
- Program Cost Sheet
- Web Application to the Program
- Program Web site
The four (4) month lead time is generally used as follows:
- The first month is utilized for design, sign-off of creative design and printing of necessary marketing materials.
- The remaining three (3) months are needed to ensure wide distribution of marketing material for perspective student consumption.
The four (4) month lead time will begin once ALL required approvals for the new program or changes to an existing program have been obtained.
Program modifications should be implemented only on a January 1 and July 1 time schedule.
- January 1 starts must have all approvals complete and information to the respective enrollment department no later than Sept. 1st.
- July 1 starts must have all approvals complete and information to the respective enrollment department no later than March 1st .
New program implementation dates will be collaboratively established to take the greatest advantage of market opportunities and resource utilization but will respect the four (4) month lead time requirement.
The enrollment offices within CAPS will provide the academic units with copies of current marketing materials by January 15 and July 15. This will allow the academic units time to review and make revisions due to program modifications and still honor the four (4) month lead time requirement.
