MAT-119 Contemporary Trigonometry
This course offers an extensive introduction to trigonometry, equipping students with a strong foundation in trigonometric functions such as sine, cosine, and tangent, along with their inverses. Key topics include analytic trigonometry, covering essential concepts like trigonometric identities, equations, and triangle solutions. Students will investigate polar coordinates and their connections to Cartesian systems. The course will conclude with an exploration of conic sections (circles, ellipses, parabolas, and hyperbolas) demonstrating how these shapes can be represented in both Cartesian and polar formats.
