LIT - Literature

LIT-243 American Literature

This course introduces students to the basic skills needed to interpret the meaning of literary texts by understanding how literary forms and devices are used to communicate major themes. (Not open to students with credit in LIT-242, ENG-242 or ENG-243).

LIT-450 World Literature

This course provides an exploration of significant literary movements, authors, and representative works from world literature. Through analysis and discussion, students will examine the diverse human experiences captured in literature and the historical and cultural contexts that shaped them. Emphasis is placed on interpreting themes, understanding historical influences, and appreciating the breadth of global perspectives in classic and contemporary works.
