DNP-712 Advanced Pharmacology for the Doctorally Prepared Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

The course is designed to prepare the doctorally prepared advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) with prescriptive knowledge of pharmacologic agents used to manage drug therapy for common health problems and stable chronic disease states. Emphasis will be placed on indications, contraindications, side and interactive effects of commonly prescribed drugs. Concepts of adverse effect control, cost containment, education/advocacy, and legal and prescriptive regulations will be considered.
