Harassment
Unwelcome conduct or language that is so severe, persistent, or pervasive, that it creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment for academic pursuits, campus life, university employment, or university activities. Examples include: injurious nicknames/titles, slurs or negative stereotyping; threatening, intimidating, derogatory, or hostile acts; denigrating jokes; verbal, written or graphic material that degrades or shows hostility or aversion toward an individual or group; or severe, persistent slander or malicious gossip. It also includes interfering with or blocking a person’s legitimate movement or access, the use of profanity or vulgarity to convey hostility toward others, and pranks or horseplay intended to embarrass or humiliate others.
