Graduate Certificate - Integrative Health Coaching

Focused on developing effective communication and motivational skills, this certificate prepares individuals to become adept health coaches. The program covers essential coaching techniques, including motivational interviewing and behavior change strategies, to help clients achieve their health and wellness goals. It emphasizes creating supportive and empowering relationships with clients, fostering sustainable lifestyle changes through personalized wellness plans. Students who complete this certificate will be eligible to sit for national certification through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine.

Upon completion of this program, students should be able to:

  • Exhibit expert coaching skills for effective communication and empathetic engagement while adhering to professional integrity and confidentiality. 
  • Utilize behavioral change models and holistic health principles to facilitate comprehensive, person-centered health improvements. 
  • Create and execute tailored action plans that address clients’ holistic wellness needs, promoting sustainable lifestyle changes.

Admission Requirements

Admission begins with submission of required application forms and official transcripts of previous college and university studies.

  • Original transcript from the undergraduate degree granting institution and institution where graduate courses have been taken.

Criteria for regular admission are:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in a health care field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). 
  • Undergraduate grade-point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale from the baccalaureate degree granting institution at which at least a minimum of 30 hours was completed.

Completion Requirements

To graduate, students must meet the following requirements: 
  • Satisfactory completion of all requirements for the specific program. 
  • Minimum grade of "C" in each course. 
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0. 
  • Completed within a maximum of four years from the date of enrollment.
  • Payment of all tuition and fees is required to receive a certificate.
