Graduate Certificate - Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Healthcare

This certificate equips students with the skills needed to lead and innovate within the healthcare sector. It focuses on teaching entrepreneurial thinking, strategic management, and innovation in health services. Students learn how to identify opportunities for improvement within healthcare systems and develop viable business solutions. The program covers the creation and management of new healthcare initiatives preparing graduates to launch and lead their enterprises or introduce innovations within existing organizations.

Upon completion of this program, students should be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the healthcare sector, including regulatory frameworks, market dynamics, and technological advancements. 
  • Apply entrepreneurial thinking and strategic management principles to pursue opportunities for innovation and improvement within healthcare systems. 
  • Develop innovative solutions to address pressing issues in healthcare delivery, such as improving patient outcomes, enhancing operational efficiency, and reducing costs. 
  • Evaluate the feasibility and sustainability of healthcare innovation initiatives, considering factors such as market demand, financial viability, and organizational capabilities. 
  • Exemplify servant leadership characteristics and ethical decision making to motivate, engage, and holistically care for clients and teams.

Admission Requirements

Admission begins with submission of required application forms and official transcripts of previous college and university studies.

  • Original transcript from the undergraduate degree granting institution and institution where graduate courses have been taken.

Criteria for regular admission are:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in a health care field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). 
  • Undergraduate grade-point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale from the baccalaureate degree granting institution at which at least a minimum of 30 hours was completed.

Completion Requirements

To graduate, students must meet the following requirements: 
  • Satisfactory completion of all requirements for the specific program. 
  • Minimum grade of "C" in each course. 
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0. 
  • Completed within a maximum of four years from the date of enrollment.
  • Payment of all tuition and fees is required to receive a certificate.
