Graduate Certificate - Fundamentals of Integrative Healthcare

This certificate program equips healthcare professionals with the skills to effectively integrate allopathic medicine with complementary and alternative practices. Evidenced-based holistic techniques such as nutritional therapies, herbal therapies, dietary supplements, and mind-body practices aligning with Christian values are explored to strategize integrative health approaches for health promotion, disease prevention, and disease management. Additionally, the program underscores the importance of personal well-being for healthcare providers, advocating self-care and
resilience strategies. Training also includes interprofessional education, encouraging teamwork across healthcare disciplines to improve patient care through collaborative practices. Practice applications of technology and case studies will be incorporated to enhance real-world learning and application. Designed to maximize patient outcomes, the curriculum emphasizes the client-provider relationship and utilizes person-centered care to address physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health, preparing practitioners for a compassionate approach to healthcare deeply
rooted in Christian values. The program prepares students to lead the evolution of healthcare, utilizing a holistic approach that emphasizes the dignity and work of each individual.

Upon completion of this program, students should be able to:

  • Synthesize skills in integrating allopathic, complementary, and alternative healthcare approaches from a Christian perspective, using evidence-based holistic techniques such as nutritional therapies, dietary supplements, herbal medicine, mind-body practices, and complementary modalities. 
  • Develop plans for personal well-being, utilizing self-care and resilience strategies, promoting the health, effectiveness, and resiliency of healthcare providers. 
  • Lead interprofessional initiatives to foster collaborative practices across healthcare disciplines, enhancing patient care. 
  • Implement ethical, person-centered care that addresses diverse needs related to physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual health, rooted in compassionate healthcare and Christian values. 
  • Create transformative healthcare innovations using emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and the metaverse to advocate for integrative healthcare approaches that are person-centered and enhance global health outcomes.

Admission Requirements

Admission begins with submission of required application forms and official transcripts of previous college and university studies.

  • Original transcript from the undergraduate degree granting institution and institution where graduate courses have been taken.

Criteria for regular admission are:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in a health care field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). 
  • Undergraduate grade-point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale from the baccalaureate degree granting institution at which at least a minimum of 30 hours was completed.

Completion Requirements

To graduate, students must meet the following requirements: 
  • Satisfactory completion of all requirements for the specific program. 
  • Minimum grade of "C" in each course. 
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0. 
  • Completed within a maximum of four years from the date of enrollment.
  • Payment of all tuition and fees is required to receive a certificate.
