MS - Management - Data Analytics Specialization

The Master of Science with a major in Management and a specialization in Data Analytics program is designed for practicing professionals who possess a bachelor's degree in business, technology, or data analytics, or possess an advanced degree in another area of specialization. Students participating in this program desire additional study in order to expand and enhance their ability to contribute to their career path, company, and society. This program allows students to be engaged in working in a paid or non-paid position, (provided this employment is appropriate for a training opportunity, considering the goals and requirements of the degree program), which may include current employment in a full- or part-time professional position, participation in job shadowing, or participation in an internship. Additionally, the program provides a foundation for future employment to extend the academic experience with practical training as noted above. 

Students in this program of study will synthesize organizational management knowledge and skills, analyze internal and external business environments, and formulate relevant business and cross-cultural communication strategies. Solutions needed to ethically lead, plan, organize, and manage organizations for the future will be explored.

This program focuses on the fundamentals of organizational management and how to apply data science and analysis techniques to identify, predict, and adapt to workplace trends. The improvement of organizational outcomes using insights from mining databases, statistics, big data, and visual analytics is addressed. Students will master the use data to lead, inform, organize, and manage organizations while applying a biblical and ethical framework.

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to: 

  • Synthesize organizational management knowledge and skills needed to lead, plan, organize, and control for the future.
  • Evaluate personal management capabilities and design a plan for continual growth.
  • Analyze internal and external business environments and formulate relevant strategies and solutions.
  • Apply ethical theories and concepts to global business decisions and solutions.
  • Implement appropriate cross-cultural communication strategies to achieve organization goals.
  • Integrate a biblical framework that guides interactions within the business environment and workplace.
  • Apply theoretical and practical knowledge to plan, organize, analyze and report data results to support business decision making.

Admission Requirements

Requirements for admission to the Master of Science programs are as follows:

  • A baccalaureate or graduate degree from a college or university that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) verified on original transcripts sent by the institution directly to Indiana Wesleyan University.
  • An undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher from the baccalaureate degree granting institution at which at least a minimum of 30 hours was completed. If an applicant's GPA is below 2.5, the student may be admitted on a probationary basis, as established by the guidelines of the DeVoe School of Business, Technology, & Leadership.

Graduation Requirements

To graduate, students must have completed all of the following:

  • All credits required in the curriculum sequence with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a minimum grade of “C” in each course. A grade of "C-" or below will require the course to be repeated.
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 in all IWU graduate work.
  • Payment of all tuition and fees is required to receive a diploma.
