TESOL Certificate
The TESOL Certificate provides specialized instruction in the theory and skills of teaching English to learners for whom it is not a native language. The TESOL curriculum includes a rigorous core that covers language/linguistics, language acquisition, language pedagogy, assessment practices, and intercultural awareness and sensitivity. Graduates with a TESOL Certificate are equipped to change the world by teaching English to speakers of other languages around the world.
Requirements (17-19 credits)
The TESOL Certificate is available for current IWU undergraduates who are not TESOL majors, TESOL Education Majors, TESOL minors, or Elementary Education majors with TESOL concentration.
Earning the certificate requires completion of the following courses and internship.
