Undergraduate Certificate - Human Resource Management

The Human Resource Management (HRM) Certificate is designed to provide students with the prerequisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to engage in fundamental human capital practices in the workplace, including: staffing, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, health and safety, and the assessment of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal mandates and operational protocol. Students will participate in a variety of course activities to obtain Human Resource (HR)-specific foundational knowledge and the skills needed for situational judgment and decision making. The HRM Certificate program is stackable with other credentials, helps ready learners for gainful employment—including non-HR supervisory or management positions requiring primary HR competencies, and is preparatory for HR certification exams.

  • Evaluate an organization’s current leadership and management practices in order to formulate appropriate interventions in response to organizational challenges.
  • Analyze total rewards practices and tactics for all employee groups and their impact on organizational strategy and values.
  • Design appropriate human resource management strategies that enhance an organization's overall competitive advantage and aligns with organizational goals and values.
