MBA - Business Administration

The Master of Business Administration program with a major in Business Administration prepares students to design solutions and strategies for complex domestic and global business problems and opportunities, and integrate critical analysis with disciplines such as management, accounting, finance, and economics. Students participating in this program desire additional study in order to expand and enhance their ability to contribute to their career path, company, and society. This program allows students to be engaged in working in a paid or non-paid position, (provided this employment is appropriate for a training opportunity, considering the goals and requirements of the degree program), which may include current employment in a full- or part-time professional position, participation in job shadowing, or participation in an internship. Additionally, the program provides a foundation for future employment to extend the academic experience with practical training as noted above.

Personal management capabilities will be evaluated and plans for growth designed. Students will synthesize ethical standards in decision-making and strategy development to create appropriate cross-cultural communication strategies to achieve organizational goals. A biblical framework that guides interactions within the global business environment will be integrated throughout the program of study.

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:

  • Design solutions and strategies for complex domestic and global business problems and opportunities.
  • Evaluate personal leadership capabilities and design plans for self-improvement and continual growth.
  • Integrate critical thinking and analysis with business administration disciplines to ensure mission success.
  • Synthesize ethical standards in decision-making and strategy development.
  • Create appropriate cross-cultural communication strategies to achieve organization goals.
  • Integrate a biblical framework that guides interactions within the global business environment.

The curriculum will be completed in the order established by Indiana Wesleyan University. Indiana Wesleyan University reserves the right to modify the curriculum and locations offered as necessary.

Admission Requirements

  • A baccalaureate or graduate degree from a college or university that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) verified on original transcripts sent by the institution directly to Indiana Wesleyan University.
  • An undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher from the baccalaureate degree granting institution at which at least a minimum of 30 hours was completed. If an applicant's GPA is below 2.5, the student may be admitted on a probationary basis, as established by the guidelines of the DeVoe School of Business, Technology, & Leadership.

Graduation Requirements

To graduate, students must have completed all of the following:

  • All credits required in the curriculum sequence with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a minimum grade of “C” in each course. A grade of "C-" or below will require the course to be repeated.
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 in all IWU graduate work.
  • Payment of all tuition and fees is required to receive a diploma.
