Academic Advising
The purpose of academic advising is to support students from enrollment to completion of degree requirements.
Academic advisors provide assistance to students throughout their educational journey at IWU to ensure students understand all degree requirements, as well as the options available to fulfill their degree requirements.
Academic advisors also help students in understanding university policies and procedures. Academic advisors assist the students in communicating with other university departments including financial aid and student account services.
An academic advisor is assigned to each individual student and advises the student throughout the duration of his or her academic program. Academic advisors are available to meet with students for face-to-face advising appointments, as well as telephone communication and Microsoft Teams meetings. Students can also connect with their academic advisor via email.
It is important that each student maintains contact with their academic advisor throughout their degree program to ensure timely progression toward degree completion as well as proper course scheduling for maximum financial aid benefit.
