BS - Health Sciences - Post-Clinical Specialization
This program will focus on providing knowledge and skills in general Health Sciences to equip graduates with developed critical thinking skills, the ability to analyze information, overall concepts, and applications to pursue a career in the health care field.
Upon completion students will be able to demonstrate:
- Exhibit servant leadership and advocacy to lead or manage within a healthcare environment.
- Display competency in applying knowledge collaboratively to solve healthcare problems.
- Exhibit exemplary and effective verbal and written communication in an informed manner within the healthcare setting.
- Develop proficiency in the application of terminology, concepts, theories, processes, and skills specific to optimizing healthcare delivery.
- Demonstrate an awareness and articulate understanding of the complex healthcare system in the US.
- Demonstrate the ability to search and retrieve information relative to clinical practice issues and health policies to make informed decisions based on evidence analysis.
- Articulate a Christ-centered worldview and its implication in healthcare.
Admission Requirements
Admission requirements for the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Health Sciences offered through the School of Integrated Health:
- Proof of high school graduation or GED certification.
- Original transcripts from all previous college or university study at a college or university accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- Associate degree in related healthcare field or Professional Healthcare License/Certification (Paramedic, Respiratory Therapy, Radiologic Technologist, Surgical Technologist, Dental Hygienist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapy Assistant).
Transfer Credit Policy
- Credit must have been earned at a college or university accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) with a minimum grade of “C”.
- Students must complete at least 30 hours at Indiana Wesleyan University (required 21 hours of major).
Graduation Requirements
To fulfill graduation requirements students must have completed all of the following:
- Completion of 120 credit hours.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Completion of 30 hours of general education requirements as specified (General Education Requirements).
- Completion of the required major and specialization courses with a minimum grade of “C” and a GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Payment of all tuition and fees is required to receive a diploma.
