BS - Cybersecurity - Cyber Analyst Specialization

Learners who complete the Bachelor of Science with a major in Cybersecurity and specialization in Cyber Analyst program will be able to demonstrate the ability to apply current best practices in cybersecurity frameworks, IT governance, risk management, and vulnerability assessment. Students will distinguish how concepts of computer networking, digital forensics, and database technology relate to the cybersecurity domain. Students will demonstrate the ability to employ hacking and discovery tools as well as scripting languages. Biblical wisdom and Christian ethics are integrated into the coursework. Specializations are available for the program. Courses in the Cyber Analyst Specialization are designed to prepare learners for success on the CySA+, Network+, and Security+ Certification exams.

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:

Distinguish how the concepts of computer networking fundamentals relate to the cybersecurity domain.
Model best practices utilized in cybersecurity frameworks.
Utilize a vulnerability assessment to secure a technology environment.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate cogently on cybersecurity topics.
Apply biblical wisdom and Christian ethics to the field of cybersecurity.
Cyber Analyst Specialization - Evaluate technical requirements for systems security solutions by applying appropriate information technology frameworks.
Cyber Analyst Specialization - Employ various technologies to network system administration.

Admission Requirements

The admission requirements for Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Cybersecurity and a specialization in Cyber Analyst from the College of Adult and Professional Studies at Indiana Wesleyan University, are as follows:

Proof of high school graduation or GED certification.
Original transcripts from all previous college or university study at a college or university that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Prior completion of at least 60 transferable credit hours is required before the student is eligible to start a bachelor core program.

Transfer/Assessed Credit Policy

Transfer credit for degree requirements for undergraduate programs within the College of Adult and Professional Studies may be granted as follows:

Credit must have been earned at a college or university that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) with a minimum grade of “C”.
Courses must be approved by the DeVoe School of Business, Technology, & Leadership.
Students must complete at least 30 hours of the core curriculum at Indiana Wesleyan University.
Credit documented on a JST or CCAF transcript for training received in any MOS, NEC system, AFSC, and Coast Guard Ratings.

Assessed credit for degree requirements may be granted through IWU’s assessment of prior learning process for the following:

Corresponding coursework documented on a transcript/certification from a recognized national, state, county, or municipal training council or academy.
Documentation of applicable computer or information technology (IT) certifications

Graduation Requirements

To graduate with a baccalaureate degree with a major in Cybersecurity and a specialization in Cyber Analyst from the College of Adult and Professional Studies at Indiana Wesleyan University, the following requirements must be met:

Completion of 120 semester hours.
Completion of the required core courses and specialization courses with a GPA of 2.25 or higher.
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Completion of 30 hours of general education requirements as specified (General Education Requirements).
Payment of all tuition and fees is required to receive a diploma.
