AS - Mission-Driven Leadership
The Associate of Science degree with a major in Mission-Driven Leadership provides a foundational framework of leadership and mission primarily within Gospel-centered organizations, including churches, Christian non-profits, and other parachurch organizations. The program is also highly relevant in other organizational contexts, especially for leaders or organizational members who are faith-based or positively faith-leaning in their perspectives. The program combines relevant education in ministry concepts, leadership, and biblical studies to provide a foundation for leaders in any of these organizations. Key components of the program include exploration of the student’s personal calling, a focus on character development as the basis of effective leadership, fit or purpose within the organization, and integration of site-based mission-fulfillment labs, which provide students the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge in a local missional setting through experiential discovery and learning.
Upon completion of the Associate of Science degree with a major in Mission-Driven Leadership, students will be able to:
- Utilize fundamental biblical and theological concepts for leadership and management in the organization and mission.
- Demonstrate foundational leadership and management practices.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge, skills, and abilities to organize, lead, and multiply missional initiatives that engage multiple constituencies.
- Articulate a foundational perspective on life calling, self-leadership, and career within the context of faith- oriented and mission-driven organizations.
