BS - Human Services - Life Coaching Specialization
The Bachelor of Science with a major in Human Services educates students from a Biblical understanding of social advocacy. Graduates are equipped to serve in entry-level positions in a vast array of organizations. These organizations include the justice system, government agencies, juvenile detention centers, and social service agencies.
Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:
- Integrate biblical perspectives on providing care to oppressed or disadvantaged people.
- Assess services to identified constituencies in social service agencies.
- Advocate for positive social change at the micro and macro levels.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and need for services rendered by social service agencies.
- Articulate a management plan for resources of the social service agency for the benefit of the community.
- Apply the ICF Code of Ethics.
- Demonstrate respect for cultural differences.
- Describe the importance of ongoing learning and development as a life coach.
Admission Requirements
The admission requirements for this program are as follows:
- Proof of high school graduation or GED certification.
- Original transcripts from all previous college or university study at college or university that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- Prior completion of at least 60 transferable credit hours is required before the student is eligible to start a bachelor core program.
Transfer Credit Policy
Transfer credit for core curriculum requirements for undergraduate programs within the School of Service and Leadership may be granted as follows:
- Credit must have been earned at a college or university that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) with a minimum grade of "C".
- Courses must be approved by the School of Service and Leadership.
- Students must complete at least 30 hours of the core curriculum at Indiana Wesleyan University.
