2019-2020 Catalog

Christian Ministries - B.S.

Purpose

The major in Christian Ministries is the degree that contains the courses designed to prepare persons for pastoral ministry in the church. This is one of four majors which meet requirements for ordination in The Wesleyan Church; moreover, it is the primary major taken by students seeking ordination in other denominations. The major can be applied to either a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree. The requirements for both degrees are quite similar. Additional courses in ancient languages are required for the Bachelor of Arts degree. Students anticipating further education beyond the baccalaureate degree are encouraged to consider the Bachelor of Arts degree as the preferred option.

General Education Requirements

Students in this major meet the general education requirements by taking PSY-150 or 250, (REL-365, REL-366, and REL-366P) and REL-240.
