Graduate Certificate - Technology/Digital Literacy

The Graduate Technology/Digital Literacy major is an 18 hour concentration that prepares the student to foster digital citizenship with the effective integration of technology. Areas of focus include technical knowledge, digital learning theory, design principles, technological change management, and data-driven decision-making.

Upon completion of this program, students should be able to:

  • Demonstrate technical knowledge and skills in the use of related hardware and software.
  • Articulate and establish ethical practices in Digital Citizenship.
  • Discriminate then align the use of technology to meet identified needs of the learner.
  • Analyze then devise sustainable technology integrations for the learning community.
  • Apply systems thinking to problem solving in creative and innovative ways.

Admission Requirements

The admission requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Technology/Digital Literacy are as follows:

  • A baccalaureate or graduate degree from a college or university that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) verified on original transcripts sent by the institution directly to Indiana Wesleyan University.
  • An undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or higher from the baccalaureate degree granting institution at which at least a minimum of 30 hours was completed.

Completion Requirements

To complete the Certificate in Technology/Digital Literacy candidates must show evidence of the following:

  • Successful completion of the Certificate curriculum with a minimum grade of "B-" in each certificate course.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above in all graduate work.
  • Payment of all tuition and fees is required to receive a certificate.
