Sharps Disposal
We ask that students dispose of all sharps in a rigid puncture-resistant container with a secure lid, like a heavy plastic detergent/bleach bottle. Containers should be labeled "Sharps". Approved "Sharps Disposal Containers" may be obtained in the Wildcat Health Clinic free of charge.
- Keep sharps containers in a secure location.
- Full containers can be disposed of by bringing them to the Wildcat Health Clinic during normal business hours.
- Do not throw sharps containers into the trash.
- Do not throw loose needles in the garbage.
- Do not attempt to bend, break, or remove needles from the sharp container.
- Do not flush needles or syringes.
- Do not use glass containers to dispose of needles.
