Pre-engineering Program

The pre-engineering program is a prescribed set of coursework completed in two years at Indiana Wesleyan University with the expectation that the student will subsequently transfer to an engineering school to finish a bachelor’s degree in at most three more years.

Students who complete the IWU pre-engineering program have the option of applying for admission as a transfer student to another engineering school, or they may remain at IWU to complete a bachelor’s degree in a related area such as mathematics, chemistry, or computer science. Students should consult carefully with their pre-engineering advisor to ensure they enroll in the proper courses. The pre-engineering program includes concentrated coursework in mathematics, chemistry, physics, writing, and speaking, as well as general education courses.
