MA - Psychology
Admission Requirements
The Master of Arts with a major in Psychology program is designed for individuals from a variety of backgrounds and requires no specific prerequisite courses. However, for admission to the program, it is necessary to meet the following requirements and submit relevant documentation.
- A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university or from an institution accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education, verified on official transcripts sent by the institution directly to Indiana Wesleyan University.
- The bachelor's degree may be in any field and there are no pre-requisite courses that must be completed prior to starting the program.
- An undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher from the baccalaureate degree granting institution at which at least a minimum of 30 hours was completed. If an applicant's GPA is below 2.25, the student may be admitted on a probationary basis, as established by the guidelines of the college.
- Two recommendations from individuals familiar with the applicant's academic and professional competencies. Recent college graduates should have at least one academic recommendation.
- Applicants who have been out of college more than three years should submit professional recommendations.
Transfer of Credit
Credit may be allowed for courses equivalent in content, credit hours, and course title, except for the Capstone course. Only coursework completed at a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of "C" or higher is acceptable for transfer credit. A maximum of six credit hours of equivalent coursework may be transferred in to meet program requirements.
Graduation Requirements
- Completion of the 30 hour program with an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and a minimum grade of "C" in all IWU graduate work. A grade of "C-" or below will require the course to be repeated.
- Payment of tuition and fees is required to receive a diploma.
