Workman's Compensation Policy

I. SCOPE

This policy applies to IWU Wildcat Health Clinic staff.

II. POLICY STATEMENT

 

The policy offers guidance for caring for patients with a work related injury or illness who might be covered under Indiana Wesleyan University Workman’s Compensation.

 

 

This policy outlines the responsibly of the Wildcat Health Center staff in the event of a workman’s compensation encounter.

 

 

 

• Health Center staff should help facilitate reporting of the injury by the injured employee to the injured employee’s supervisor if the injured employee needs assistance.
• All Workman’s Compensation patients who are seen in the IWU Health Center must be seen by a provider. If seen by a Nurse Practitioner the chart will be reviewed by the Medical Director.
• Human Resources must to be notified either by phone or secure email of all Workman’s Compensation visits, referrals for testing or further medical care as needed.
