BUS-225 Legal Environment of Business
Students will apply legal terminology to an evaluation of laws from various federal and state statutory law and judicial opinions sources. The student will compare and contrast torts, crimes and contract law, different forms of business organizations, including agencies, sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations, and limited liability companies as they relate to the legal environment of business. As laws are rapidly changing, the student will explain important legal issues involving employment law, wages, hours, and layoffs; employee privacy, employment discrimination, and worker health, safety, and income security. The legal environment will be viewed using biblical principles to make business decisions.
