AVP-111 Instrument Pilot Knowledge
This course provides students instruction to prepare for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Instrument Rating-Airplane Knowledge Test. Topics include IFR enroute and approach procedures, IFR navigation, safe and efficient IFR operations, weather reports and forecasts, critical weather, Air Traffic Control and procedures, Federal regulations, aeronautical decision-making, and crew resource management. Credit for this course is contingent on passing the FAA Instrument Rating Knowledge exam with a mandatory minimum passing score of 70%. To pass the course, students must pass the exam within two (2) attempts. If additional exam attempts are required, students may require additional hours of ground school instruction beyond the course minimum to pass the course, resulting in additional fees. Students who possess and present a valid FAA Pilot Certificate with an Instrument Rating will be granted credit for this course. The course is to be taken concurrently with AVP-112. Prerequisite: AVP-101 and AVP-102
