Executive MBA - Business Administration - Applied Management Specialization

The Executive Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Applied Management program is designed for practicing professionals who possess a bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or data analytics, or possess an advanced degree in another area of specialization. Leaders participating in this program desire additional study in order to expand and enhance their ability to contribute to their career path, company, and society. This program allows participants to be engaged in working in a paid or non-paid position, (provided this employment is appropriate for a training opportunity, considering the goals and requirements of the degree program), which may include current employment in a full- or part-time professional position, participation in job shadowing, or participation in an internship. Additionally, the program provides a foundation for future employment to extend the academic experience with practical training as noted above.

Business leaders will be empowered in this program to enhance their abilities to lead strategically, drive innovation, and model integrity in a rapidly evolving global landscape. Focusing on growth, organization, innovation, and accountability, participants will enhance skills needed to navigate complex challenges and make a meaningful impact. Emphasizing AI-driven business strategy, the program explores how emerging technologies reshape business models and drive competitive advantage. Ethical leadership is reinforced through faith-based servant leadership principles, fostering integrity, trust, and responsible decision-making. Through immersive learning experiences, including specialized certifications in Strategic Leadership and AI Business Innovation, participants will gain practical expertise in leading change initiatives, enhancing organizational agility, and applying data-driven strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and overall business performance. The use of advanced management principles to optimize organizational operations will be addressed. Management strategies to enhance efficiency and performance will also be explored.

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:

Admission Requirements

  • A baccalaureate or graduate degree from a college or university that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by both the U.S. Department of Education (ED) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) verified on original transcripts sent by the institution directly to Indiana Wesleyan University.
  • An undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher from the baccalaureate degree granting institution at which at least a minimum of 30 hours was completed. If an applicant's GPA is below 2.5, the student may be admitted on a probationary basis, as established by the guidelines of the DeVoe School of Business, Technology, & Leadership.
  • Submission of a resume that documents a minimum of three years executive leadership experience. Experience may be in a paid or volunteer position or unpaid internship and can be performed in a variety of institutions and organizations including (but not limited to): business, non-profit, civic, educational, medical, religious, or government.

Graduation Requirements

To graduate, students must have completed all of the following:

  • All credits required in the curriculum sequence with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a minimum grade of “C” in each course. A grade of "C-" or below will require the course to be repeated.
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 in all IWU graduate work.
  • Payment of all tuition and fees is required to receive a diploma.
