Academic Advising

Academic advising at Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) is designed to support students from enrollment through the completion of degree requirements. Each student is assigned an academic advisor who serves as a consistent point of contact throughout their academic program.

Academic advisors assist students in understanding their degree requirements, exploring course options, and navigating university policies and procedures.

To ensure strong and consistent communication, advisors proactively connect with students at key points during each term through phone calls, emails, and text messages—offering reminders, encouragement, and timely check-ins. Students are encouraged to reach out to their advisor at any time with questions, concerns, or to discuss academic planning.

Advisors are available for face-to-face appointments, as well as through phone, email, or Microsoft Teams meetings. Regular communication with an academic advisor is essential for timely progression toward degree completion, proper course scheduling, and maximizing financial aid eligibility.

The advisor-student relationship is a collaborative partnership centered on student success, helping each student thrive throughout their educational journey.
