ENT-301 The Business Idea

In this course students will examine the context of business and the variety of functional areas of operations from the lens of an entrepreneur. A framework to support the creation of a business plan will be presented. This course provides students with an integrative outline to examine the external business landscape and market forces enabling them to recognize potential business opportunities. This course offers a unique blend of business acumen enriched by Christian insights. It is the first in a sequence of courses in the DeVoe Experience business core and is ideal for entrepreneurs and professionals seeking a foundational understanding of the business environment and the free enterprise system.

ENT-302 The Customer Conversation

Students in this course will develop strategies and tactics to inspire customers to purchase and seamlessly experience the benefits of using a product or service. This includes refining a value proposition that solves a customer problem or satisfies a need. Developing a clear description of ideal customers and market segments, how customer relationships will be developed and nurtured, and the channels by which the product or service will be delivered will be addressed. A business model framework will be incorporated, offering a holistic view of engaging with and delivering value to customers. Prerequisite: ENT-301

ENT-303 The Culture and Operations of a Business

Students in this course will explore the business operations and culture of a typical organization. They will delve into production and operations management, sourcing key resources, human resource practices, strategic alignment of business activities, and leveraging partnerships. Strategies for creating and sustaining organizational culture will be crafted. A business model framework will be incorporated, offering a holistic view of engaging with and delivering value to customers. Prerequisite: ENT-301 and ENT-302

ENT-304 The Cash Flow Story

Students in this course will develop the revenue stream strategies and cost structure of their business idea to ensure an economically sustainable organization. This includes exploring pricing models, revenue generation strategies, fixed and variable expenses, and capitalization. Learners will also pitch their business plan to prospective investors and stakeholders. A business model canvas framework will be incorporated, offering a holistic view of engaging with and delivering value to customers. Prerequisite: ENT-301, ENT-302, and ENT-303

ENT-340 Entrepreneurship & New Venture Creation

Development and management of an entrepreneurial organization including pre-startup, startup, survival, growth, and the transition from entrepreneurial to professional management. Explain the function of entrepreneurship and corporate intrapreneurship. Students will review the entrepreneurial revolution, developing creativity and innovation, nonprofit entrepreneurship and developing the entrepreneurial plan. Prerequisite: Admission to the Business Division.

ENT-341 Organizational Intrapreneurship

This course focuses on the development of ideas within an organization and seeing those ideas become operational reality. Students will review the intrapreneuerial process, identify opportunities, building the intrapreneurial foundation and learn how to deal with the challenges of being entrepreneurial within an organization all within the context of biblical principles. Prerequisite: Admission to the Business Division.

ENT-399 Service Learning

Service-Learning is an educational experience in which students participate in organized service activities that meet identified community and/or university needs. Prerequisite: Admission to the Business Division.
