EAR-130 Foundations of Earth Science

Foundations of Earth Science is a comprehensive introductory course designed for students across all disciplines interested in understanding the fundamental aspects of Earth Science. This course delves into the intricacies of the Earth's systems, the dynamic processes that continuously shape our planet, the rich tapestry of rocks and minerals that form its crust, and the events that have sculpted Earth's surface and atmosphere. Additionally, it addresses the pressing environmental challenges and natural hazards facing our world today, aiming to cultivate a deeper appreciation and understanding of Earth's complex systems through a Christian worldview. The course does include required lab work.

EAR-132 Earth Science (with Lab)

This is a laboratory course designed to give students an understanding of the earth, its processes, history and place in the universe. Major emphasis is on geology, oceanography, meteorology, and astronomy. Human influence on the environment, locally and globally, is explored. Students will gain understanding of the basic systems, their changes, and direct and indirect relation to themselves. Opportunities to develop concept thinking and research techniques will be presented. Considered an elective in the Science Minor for Education Majors.
