Honors Humanities Minor

The Honors Humanities minor is an interdisciplinary engagement of the fundamental questions of human existence for the purpose of contextualizing and enriching one’s studies in a particular academic discipline.

Admission to the Honors Humanities minor is limited to students who have enrolled in the Mary C. Dodd Honors program. Mary C. Dodd Honors students must complete all of the CAS general education requirements for graduation with a bachelor’s degree. The Honors Scholarship Project (Research, Service Learning, Creative) is completed over the course of two semesters. Students decide with their faculty mentors how the 3-credit requirement will be distributed across the two semesters. Students may petition to pursue an HSP of more than 3 credits (up to 6 credits). If a student’s disciplinary major includes a research capstone experience, the HSP will overlap with this project. If not, the HSP will still apply as an upper-divisional elective within a student’s disciplinary major.
