HADM-555 Healthcare Finance and Economics
This course introduces students to the core concepts of financial management and economic theory in healthcare. Financial concepts addressed include financial statement analysis, planning and budgeting, value-based purchasing, revenue cycle management, capital budgeting, disbursements, and contract management. Economic theory and analysis are addressed with a focus on healthcare consumption, supply and demand, resource allocation, and the impact of economic policy on healthcare delivery. Students will develop the necessary analytic ability, attitudes, and decision-making skills required of a health administrator in a changing environment. They will apply virtuous business practices to financial management activities.
