III. Reason for the Policy
University Advancement receives requests for the use of university fundraising resources from IWU affiliated organizations, departments, committees or groups supervising or sponsoring fundraising endeavors to support organizations or institutions other than IWU. Charitable donations to IWU are governed by federal and state tax rules as well as internal guidelines, and are processed and receipted using university fundraising resources. In order for IWU to effectively conduct fundraising operations thereby allowing it to carry out its mission, the university must manage the use of fundraising resources.
